TOP CHEFS AND COOKING DEMONSTRATIONS

Celebrity chefs, including Theo Randall were on hand with top tips for the kitchen, and top wine writer, Oz Clarke helped visitors to distinguish plonk from pinot on Sunday 17th September. Sophie Grigson took to the stage on Saturday 16th September 2017 to share some of her best culinary delights.

2017 saw over 30 stalls for visitors to savour delicious wares from across the region, including bespoke producers, tasty deli-style exhibitors, street food and homewares.

The Newmarket Food & Drink Festival 2017 was be held in two convenient locations in the town centre, so there was no need for a 32Red Open Weekend ticket. 2018 locations to be announced.

Silent Auction

The Silent Auction was back for 2017 and saw an amazing auction prize for foodies! Theo Randall generously agreed to step out of his restaurant kitchen for one night to support the Open Weekend, so he could step into yours, and cook a four-course dinner for you and your friends. Congratulations to all winners for the 2017 Silent Auction!

2017 Buskers’ Competition

For the first time in Newmarket Open Weekend history, The Newmarket Food and Drink Festival hosted a Buskers' competition throughout the centre of town!

Each Saturday, from the 5th August, up until Saturday 9th September, between 11am - 2pm, live acts took to the streets of Newmarket to entertain and showcase their talents. The finals took place on the weekend of the 16th and 17th September from 11.30am until 4pm each day, and the Newmarket Community Choir were chosen as the best in the bunch, taking away with them a £1000 prize.
